LIBRARY RESOURCES
The Gloversville Public Library has a number of resources on-site and on-line available to you.
How to Get a Library Card
To access the Library's resources, you will need a Library card. To obtain a Gloversville Public Library card, you must provide staff with a photo ID and show something with your current address; ex: utility bill, checkbook, piece of mail addressed to you.
On-Line Resources
The Library's catalog can be accessed both within the Library and remotely. In addition to viewing the holdings of the Gloversville Public Library, you can browse the collections of 49 libraries and 9 branches in 8 counties.
In accordance with individual library policies, you may place requests for materials owned by other libraries and they will be shipped to your home library. You must enter your library barcode number (no spaces) and your password. If you can not remember your password, please contact us.
Catalogs for the public libraries in the Upper Hudson Library System (Albany & Renssealaer counties), the New York State Library & Archives, the Capital District Library Council via CaDiLaC, and the Library of Congress can be accessed on-line.
Library databases are also available both in the Library and remotely. Again, you will need your Library barcode number (no spaces) to access these resources. The databases include popular and some scholarly magazines, some full text newspapers, business and career resources, homework help for children, income tax information, health resources, genealogical information, and much more.
On-Site Resources
In addition to over 40,000 books and audio-visual items that circulate, the Library has reference resources for children and adults. These items may only be used inside the Library, and some require that a non-monetary deposit be left at the circulation desk.
